Job Description

Graphic Designers use two or three-dimensional art to create visual concepts. They design logos and layout designs for print and electronic media including websites, magazines, brochures, user interfaces, product labels, reports and advertisements. They work with other professionals to incorporate typesetting, illustration, photography, and even programming, to ensure products display as intended. Great Graphic Designers understand how to communicate brands visually and effectively.

Graphic Design and Marketing Intern duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of a Graphic Designer Intern include:

• Designing visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software
• Selecting colors, fonts, photographs, layouts and other design elements to communicate creative concepts
• Collaborating with art directors, branding experts, front end developers, marketing, content and other professionals to create media

Graphic Designer skills and qualifications

Graphic Design Interns need a wide range of skills to visually convey concepts. Important skills and qualifications include:

• Must have your own laptop and Adobe CC programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• 2 years in graphic design program or related field
• Knowledge of graphic design software
• Solid knowledge of design and visual principles
• Demonstrated portfolio showing creative, design and software skills
• Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the customer needs in mind
• Ability to communicate design choices clearly
• Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure
• Must be willing to learn screen-printing process and print t-shirts
• Must live within driving distance of office location in Midland, TX.
